“The Angel’s Star”
In a thunderous shrieking roar, an ominous haze of amber bled into a crimson illumination across the sky, with clouds burning in a rolling fiery blaze. Nature dimmed around us as the Sun sank behind the figure that grew above, casting its dreadful shadow down as all birds fled in a panic.
I watched Celestia look to the heavens as the wild grasses whipped relentlessly around her. This sanctuary that she lovingly built for a peaceful, joyful life with her family in a quaint forest cottage was now under siege. The malevolence further darkened the springtime air in a deep twilight glow as the nightmarish anguish descended upon us in an unforgiving wrath.
My chest grew heavy with feverish anxiety. I stood beside my dearest friend, Lucius, who held his imposing platinum scythe high, its edge gleaming with a ravenous cold thirst for revenge amid his midnight-black hair, wings, and cloak, which yielded to the ferocious winds encircling us as a predator's breath hunting its prey. He looked at me with his soft hazel-eyed gaze, possessing a tremble that I had never known. A look that told me he would fight to the death to protect me, but he couldn’t promise his return to me.
“It’s Krowl,” I said with a terrible rhythm growing in my heart. He escaped the Divine Zenith, the hidden depths of Divinity where all cries of despair belonged to lost souls that dwelled within. Now he was here to destroy the fabric of all existence in his sheer agony. I unsheathed my sterling silver sword as my immense snowy-white wings held strong in defiance.
“Caelum,” Lucius said in a sorrowful voice, “if I don’t come back, just know that you’ll always be my star soul and I’ll find you in the next life.”

Meet the Author
Hello, I'm Ceadda V. I also write under the pen name Lunarix5, albeit mostly lyrics and poetry. However, I wanted to spread my creative wings and express myself through the literary arts in a more meaningful, personal way... something I felt only writing a novel could make possible.
My Writing Process
The first draft is all about getting the story down for the first time. Everyone approaches it differently I suppose; perhaps some writers blaze through with a very basic draft. Having an outline of the core story is essential so you can build toward those key plot points as you write.
I prefer to write a solid chapter for my initial draft and then immediately spellcheck and layer in atmosphere, emotion, and inner monologue. That way, I'm not left with an entire book to revise at the end of the project. When I'm nearly finished with the novel, I go back to add extra scenes and build atmospheric details, but I find this method works best for me. It can be a riskier approach if chapters derail from the outline, which makes having a rock-solid foundation, complete with detailed outlines and character profiles critically important. Nevertheless, my chapters often write themselves; letting characters take the story in new directions frequently leads to a unique, facinating narrative. Those are the moments of writing I truly love, where the characters become so real that they speak for themselves and decide what to do, rather than sticking strictly to my initial plans.
For me, this novel was really about allowing the characters to exist, allowing them to love, to cry, to aspire to greater heights, and to fulfill their dreams. I hope you enjoy spending time with them as much as I enjoyed sharing my days with them.
